Dan was born in Buenos Aires in 1960 and moved to Australia in 1975, hence he is a native speaker of English and Spanish. He also speaks Hebrew, Italian and Portuguese.
After completing an economics and accounting degree in Melbourne University with a minor in business law, Dan traveled extensively before becoming a CPA in Australia and worked in public practice for over 10 years in tax accounting and advice for small to medium size businesses and individuals.
Dan and his family made aliyah in 1993 and worked in the import and export of camping equipment and then as an accountant in a major firm in Jerusalem. He moved with his wife, five children and elderly mother to Ramat Beit Shemesh when the streets were not fully paved and there were only 2 buses to Jerusalem per day.
